Going Global? The Korean Ways 🇰🇷

On 23 November, South Korea visited Budapest Business School – after 2 years OBIC could successfully organize its Dialogues with the Orient event in person again! This seventh event focused on South Korea, and besides the presentations, music, dance and other cultural programs ensured that participants could really experience Korea.

After an instrumental opening and Prof. Balázs Heidrich’s welcome address, H.E. Chul-min Park, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Hungary spoke about the role of Korea in the world and Hungary. Our next speakers, Levente Pallos, former Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Hungary in Seoul, and Beatrix Mecsi, Head of Department of Korean Studies at Eötvös Loránd University held presentations about the economy and the changes in South Korea respectively.

Following the presentations, the Mugunghwa Dance Group charmed the audience with their spectacular traditional Korean dances.

In the end, everyone was welcome to join us for Korean food boxes and other snacks, while also trying on the hanbok dresses and playing some traditional Korean games (like tuho or jegichagi).
